Tonight I splurged on some Korean beef barbecue for dinner. It was SOOOO good! First, I have to take off my shoes, then walk to the table where we sit on pillow cushions on the floor. Then it was ordering time; we wanted to order the one that was only 1 serving, but somehow that wasn’t possible. The language barrier prevented me from understanding why, so we decided to to go with 2 servings. The barbecue came with tofu (plus clam, plus an egg) soup, lots of side dishes, lettuce and a couple of sauces. When the meat came out, the waitress actually grilled them for us, as the meal went on. I kind of wanted to grill them myself but wasn’t sure if that was acceptable. I also tried some green chili peppers, they were spicy and very good with the beef! From this I learned that “인분” (in-buhn) meant servings. Oh the meal was 66,000 Won ($58.28 USD for 2 servings) all together, split that 3 ways and I paid 22,000 Won ($19.43 USD) for dinner. Indeed it was a splurge!
